Tutoring Options

A+ Math Tutoring is happy to provide support in a variety of ways, some traditional, some new, and for all subjects. We understand that students thrive in different settings and we’re here to help!

Private, Online Tutoring

study 1

The online methods offered at A+ Math Tutoring are interactive, effective and personalized. These sessions allow students and tutors to write on virtual computer whiteboards, share screens, record sessions when requested and allow for more flexibility in regards to scheduling and session length. The feedback we’ve received from students is that these types of sessions are as effective as in-person sessions. One-on-one virtual tutoring sessions are very different from the Zoom classes that your son/daughter experienced during the pandemic.

Our tutors use either a platform called Tutorcast, a virtual tutoring tool created specifically for online tutoring, or Zoom. Prior to a student’s online sessions, he/she can email their tutor any homework, assignment or problems they’d like to review with the tutor. The tutor can upload these problems to the shared screen, which allows for smooth, efficient sessions. A great perk about online sessions is that last-minute algebra tutoring requests are often easily accommodated by our tutors.

In-Person, One-on-One Tutoring

A portion of our tutors at A+ Math Tutoring offers in-person sessions at the student’s home. We understand that some students find this method to be the most beneficial for them. Though we offer many tutors for the various math subjects, we offer experienced tutors for all subjects for grades K-12, each tutor carefully interviewed before being selected. In addition to math, such as Elementary, Pre-Algebra, Geometry and Algebra 2, we have tutors that specialize in subjects such as History, Writing, English, Chemistry and Biology. For those that opt for in-person tutoring, careful safety measures are put into place, including masks, social distancing, washing hands and being vaccinated. Holding sessions outdoors is encouraged as this increases the safety levels. Families may also opt for a combination of both online and in-person sessions. This is sometimes beneficial as a student may not always need a full hour or they may need to fit in a last-minute session.

A+ Math Tutoring offers experienced tutors and credentialed teachers, each concentrating on their math or science specialty. During sessions, the focus is helping with homework and preparing for any upcoming quizzes or tests. As part of ensuring that each student has a solid foundation in their class, emphasis is also placed on clarifying any past concepts that may need attention. For new families starting with us, we offer assessment tests for students in grades K-9, which can be a great starting point.

Whichever method above seems to resonate best with your child’s way of learning, the tutors at A+ Math Tutoring are happy to help. Feel free to try a couple different methods to find out what’s best!
